Corporate Finance & AdvisoryJoão Monteiro is a Founding Partner of Nexus Approach and Managing Partner of the Advisory Approach International Network, an international platform headquartered in Lisbon with a cross-regional presence throughout EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) through a network of strategic international partners.
With more than 15 years of international experience, his practice focuses on Corporate Finance, Venture Capital, M&A, Corporate Governance and Investment Advisory, advising financial institutions, investors, asset management companies, family offices and corporate groups on structured investment transactions, asset management and complex business transactions.

He has extensive experience in Private Wealth and Real Estate Investment, supporting private and institutional investors in the structuring of investments, acquisition and management of assets, with a particular focus on the markets of Portugal, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates.
Prior to founding Nexus Approach and the Advisory Approach International Network, he served as a Manager at PwC, where he was involved in financial audit and regulatory advisory projects within the banking sector, asset management, investment funds and venture capital.
Between 2011 and 2014, he participated, in collaboration with the TROIKA, in the assessment of the assets of Portugal’s four largest banks, contributing to highly complex technical and regulatory projects within the framework of the restructuring of the Portuguese financial system.
He has also been involved in numerous Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance projects, including mergers between asset management companies, the creation and structuring of venture capital funds, and corporate reorganisations.
In Angola, he participated in several phases of the Asset Quality Review (AQR) conducted by the National Bank of Angola (BNA), with a particular focus on the assessment of credit risk within the country’s leading banking institutions.
João Monteiro holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management from ISCTE Business School and a Master's Degree in Finance from the Portuguese Catholic University.
